When Brooke moved into a condo with a large open-concept living space, we were so excited to work together to design her dream dining room space! For so many years & so many rentals, there was never enough space for a dining area that fit more than 2-4 people. Now that she had room for a large dining table that could fit 6 people comfortably, and 8 if needed, we immediately set our sights on a dining table that we had sourced in client projects over the past years.
Since the dining table was the pièce de résistance, everything else was designed around the piece. Framed memories from Brooke & David’s wedding (small plug: which was featured in Inside Weddings!) adorn the walls, a neutral rug anchors the dining room in the open concept living space, and two stunning head chairs are accompanied by smaller, neutral chairs that complement the design. An inset bar area adds to the design with a framed print that sets the tone for a perfect & fun dinner party.

“santa rosa” plank dining table - $749
We have loved this light-toned wood dining table since the first time we sourced it for a client. It comes in two sizes – 76” (fits 6 people comfortably) and 96” (fits 8 people comfortably) – and three colors, but we chose the 76” in Driftwood. It’s sturdy & timeless – two things we look for in a great dining table that will be a staple piece in a home for many years to come.
“britt” dining chair - $449
We’ve had our eyes on this chair for awhile, so we were thrilled to order two as the dining table’s head chairs. The dark black frame and neutral seat pair well with the rest of the design, and the woven natural cane backing is gorgeous. Because this chair has gotten so popular, it looks like Crate&Barrel has their own version (which looks identical, but for $50 less). Brooke worried her cats would use the cane as a scratching post, but they surprisingly haven’t been interested!
If you like this chair but can’t fathom spending $449 for a single chair, we would recommend swapping it out for one of these more budget-friendly options: Modway Malina Dining Chair with Cane Rattan in Black or Benjara Cane Back Wooden Dining Chair with Padded Seat.
“seibold” side chair (set of 4) - $369.99
We could not believe the price of these chairs compared to other similar chairs available on the market! We love the sleek matte black legs & how they pair with the neutral ivory curved back and round seat.
Note: it looks like there are only a few more of this specific style left in stock, but they have a very similar style which looks to be the new edition of the same chair.
“the triptych” - $459
At 76” wide (the same length as the dining table!), this gallery wall set is perfect for displaying your most favorite memories: wedding photos, family photos, travel photographs – the choice is yours.
“Fawna” Handwoven jute blend natural rug - $523 (on sale for $235)
While this rug comes in many sizes, we opted for the 6’ x 9’ due to the size of the dining room space and 76” long table. If you have more space, you could definitely size up to an 8’x10’.
