A Cozy, Neutral & Serene Lake House by Jenni Kayne
It’s not a secret that we love the aesthetic of all things Jenni Kayne: the home décor, clothing, shoes & accessories… we adore it all. More than just the cozy, neutral pieces that have a timeless, laid-back feel, we also love that the brand is centered upon living well – something we aspire to do everyday as well as inspire others to do via the posts on this site. Just days after we returned from our first trip to Lake Tahoe (which already gave us such an appreciation for snow-capped peaks, vast lakes & lush forests), our Instagram feed was flooded with photos from the lucky attendees who got to visit #CampKayne at the Jenni Kayne Lake House.
Inspired by some of the themes found in Jenni Kayne’s book Pacific Natural (see more of our favorite coffee table books here!), the home was designed to create a calming environment full of organic and timeless materials inspired by the stunning & serene setting of Lake Arrowhead. The abode was chosen for the renovation project thanks to nearly every room having a view of the lake, and the neutral décor allows the focus to be on feeling cozy and comfortable in the space while taking in the gorgeous views at every chance.
We love the neutral linen sofa in the living room, the rustic and reclaimed wood tables throughout the abode, the oak-and-rope dining chairs, and the gold accents in the kitchen and bathroom – with mirrors and sconces from Rejuvenation. The bedrooms are super cozy, feature cloud-like beds (each with an Awara mattress, which we’re definitely going to add to our list of new mattress contenders), and we love that natural materials – like the wood paneling in the guest room as well as a rattan pendant from Lulu & Georgia – adorn nearly every nook of the home to bring guests back to the beauty of the nature!
The designers created the abode to inspire others to embrace nature, revel in the details, and slow down a little bit along the way – which we absolutely love!
