Our Favorites from Justina Blakeney's Jungalow Collection for Opalhouse at Target

While our typical design style tends to lean more towards transitional styles with primarily neutral tones, we’ve been a tad bit envious of those daring enough to utilize bold colors throughout their homes ever since reading Joyful by Ingrid Fetell Lee. There’s an entire chapter dedicated to the rejuvenating energy we receive just from seeing color throughout the world, whether it be through fashion, interior design, nature, and so on. While everyone’s individual aesthetics of joy are different, it’s been proven that the presence of color can improve your mood, be a visual representation of celebration, and create the feeling of a new zest for life.

All that to say, we were thrilled to see that Opalhouse at Target added new arrivals to the latest collaboration with Justina Blakeney’s Jungalow brand! After learning more about the woman behind the brand, we immediately became big fans of Justina’s accessible yet bold choices, inspiring people to not shy away from color, as well as her commitment to sustainability & giving back.

Interior designer Justina Blakeney is known for her design blog-turned-lifestyle-brand, Jungalow. She began sharing details of her plant-filled home back in 2009 on her blog, and she believes that good design increases quality of life & that creativity is the key to a great home. Based in Los Angeles, California, Justina uses color, pattern & plants to bring joy into her designs & curated collections. If you’re interested, you can read more about her sustainability programs – including planting two trees with every order! – on the Jungalow website.

Her first collaboration with Target’s Opalhouse collection was unveiled this past summer; however, a new collection was just released to the public this past week! The curated furniture and accessory collection features colorful bedding, bath, décor, furniture, wallpaper and more – all of which are designed in bright, vibrant colors & textures that provide an indoor/outdoor living vibe. “Nature is always our muse. We wanted to lean into earthy brights, fun geometric and botanical-inspired motifs and natural materials. From rattan to raffia and coconut shells, we prioritize using materials that are close to the earth,” Blakeney tells Target in this interview. “We also took inspiration from our travels. You can see inspiration from India, Mexico, Morocco, Italy, and our home state of California woven into the collection.”

The Jungalow x Opalhouse at Target collection is available online now, so we’ve rounded up some of our favorite picks from the new collection (including some items from previous collections as well) below. Click each image to shop your favorites!

6' Three-Panel Patio Screen - $200 (available january 23rd)

This screen divider with wicker detailing is perfect for creating separation between two spaces or simply as added décor to dress up an empty wall. Intended for outdoor use, we think it’d look great & function the same way in the home as well.

18.2" Indoor/Outdoor Tiered Plant Stand - $60 (Available January 30th)

We love the versatility of this colorful four-tiered plant stand. Not only can it display plants in pots of different sizes at different heights, but it can also be used in tandem as a side table. We love the vibrant pops of color & circular tops!

Brass Scalloped Coffee Table - $150

We’ve always been suckers for gold (including jewelry, accessories & of course décor!) or brass, and this coffee table is no different. The scalloped edges & textured sides work together to make a statement in your living room or sitting room. If you already have a coffee table you love, Opalhouse designed with Jungalow also offers the same design in accent table form!

Marin Stackable Pouf with Casters - $90

If you’re like us, it’s likely that you are always on the lookout for additional seating – no matter how prepared you think you are. We love the soft, velvet finish & single tuft of these three poufs in pink ombré hues. Plus they stack on wheels to make it easy to move extra seating where needed or roll it in a corner to double as décor.

Jacquard Striped Hand Towel - $10

Add a bit of color to your bathroom or guest bathroom with this decorative hand towel. We love the idea of adding colorful, woven hand towels to an otherwise neutral bathroom for a splash of color & joy. The tassels give it an extra little oomph we love!

Velvet Throw Pillow with Fringe - $20

At first glance the fringe on this throw pillow gives us African safari, zebra vibes, but we love that it still works perfectly in a neutral-toned home. For those looking for a bit more color, the pillow is also offered in a terracotta hue with colorful fringe in shades of ivory, peach & yellow. Add the 18” throw pillow to your neutral- or bold-toned couch or accent chair for an added bit of texture.

Jacquard Light Filtering Gold Curtain Panel - $32

Available in three sizes, we love how these curtain panels combine functionality with fun. The decorative gold jacquard pattern is shaped like a sun & portrayed atop a textured ivory backdrop. The fabric provides privacy while also allowing just the right amount of filtered light to stream in.

Outdoor Stoneware Tiered Footed Planter - $25

Give your plants a unique, layered look in this tiered, footed stoneware 9.76” planter. We can barely keep one plant alive, let alone two, but for those blessed with green thumbs, this is the perfect new planter to showcase those beauties you’ve worked so hard to grow. The neutral aesthetic of the ivory stoneware & dark feet paired with the layered complexity of each planter provides a unique look that exudes creativity.

5x7" Ceramic Photo Frame with Bubble Glaze Finish - $15

Ever since Brooke sent out her save-the-dates with a photo masked in an arch much like this one, we’ve been obsessed with the classy yet funky feel of an arch when used in décor. Give your photo shelves a boost of texture & shape with this terracotta ceramic frame featuring a unique bubble glaze finish. It has a very ‘60s and ‘70s feel that we love!

12.5" x 11.5" Mosaic Vase with Handles - $15

We’ve all seen terrazzo have its moment in trends the past year or two, and we’re loving how this mosaic tile vase has a terrazzo feel with larger, more unique mosaic tiles. The utilization of pleasant shades of pink, peach, terracotta & cream turn what could be a bold décor choice into an approachable & romantic piece that can live in any home. We even struggle with the idea of keeping the vase empty or filling it with faux (or real!) blooms & greenery.

Large Indoor/Outdoor Earthenware Terracotta Ribbed Planter - $75

Terracotta planters never go out of style, but this spin on a classic features imperfect ribbed edges that provide a rustic, boho feel. The planters come in two sizes – tall & large measuring 15.94” H x 13.98” Dia. – and a shorter, medium style measuring 10.04” H x 12.01.” Choose one or opt for both if it’s too difficult to decide!

7.5' Patio Market Ziomara Black Fringed Umbrella - $130 (available february 6th)

We never seem to make it to the beach as often as we’d like to in the summer, but with this outdoor, water-resistant umbrella, we can bring the beach to our balcony & backyard. The combination of fun & friendly fringe with a bold, striking black & white pattern gives this umbrella a vibrant yet approachable feel that we appreciate.

Ceramic Cutout Table Lamp with Lit Base - $70

This ceramic table lamp has a neutral, stone look that never goes out of style. We love that the addition of circular cutouts give this lamp a modern & fun appeal. The cutouts are not only a great design when the light is off, but the way the light shines through the cutouts when turned on gives it an entirely new vibe. We recommend displaying this unique lamp for all to see on an accent table in your living or sitting room, or as an eye-catching piece set atop a bedroom nightstand.

58oz Stoneware Striped Beverage Pitcher - $15

Now this is a pitcher that’s pretty enough to display on your kitchen counter, whether by itself ready for action or even as a vase filled with blooms. Large enough to hold almost a half gallon of your favorite beverage, you’ll want this pitcher available for use any day of the week.
