March Monthly Musings // From The Inspired Abode

It’s a big month for us since B’s baby boy was born on March 4th! 👶🏻 Callum is a big, beautiful healthy boy & we are just so grateful to have another baby in the fam! As B adjusts to life as a family of four, we’re focusing – more than ever – on staying present, consuming content strategically to better ourselves rather than doom scrolling, enjoying analog activities (obsessed with puzzles right now!) mixed with our fave shows since it’s a big month for TV, and spending more time outside thanks to Daylight Savings giving us an extra hour of sun in the evenings starting tomorrow!

Even though we’re already almost one-quarter of the way through 2026, it feels like the new year just started. We didn’t make our vision boards until the end of January, Kel finally started her sourdough journey on the last weekend of February (despite it being her New Year’s resolution / Christmas present), and overall life seems to have just slowed down a bit to allow us to care less about overall output and more about how we’re showing up for ourselves – and our family & friends.

That being said, don’t be afraid to give yourself grace if you feel like you’re just getting started too – we love the idea of a spring reset in more ways than one ✨ We’re so excited to spend this Saturday morning with you. Now, grab a coffee or tea (we’ve been loving homemade cappuccinos & dirty chais when out and about!), share a fun snack with your toddler if you’re also in this season of life & let’s catch up! 🤍

These Monthly Musings newsletters will be delivered to your inbox on the first Saturday of each month (for free!) & you can also opt into the club to get bonus content, cute merch, and more ✨

links we can’t stop sending each other, products, links, current faves

  • Since we never want to gatekeep great finds, if you live near a Goodies (our go-to for cute, easy gifts since nothing in the store is over $25), they now have pre-orders for $25 wooden stools, which are available for pickup this spring. We each got two, but honestly had to stop ourselves from getting more – the deal is just too good!

  • With sunny days coming, we’re in the market for a great sun hat – eyeing this one, but it’s $$$, so we may have to try this slightly less-expensive version or this under-$100 option!

  • We’ve been looking for a pregnancy-safe, healthier toothpaste option & recently made the switch from Tom’s to Boka’s whitening toothpaste – the same brand we buy for the kids since they have a toddler version!

what we’re watching

  • We weren’t kidding when we said March is a big month for TV! We’ve been loving how shows have been coming out each week instead of all at once, so it gives us something to look forward to on a random Tuesday. Here are our go-tos this month:

    • Monday: We loved season one of Paradise, and while we don’t think they can beat it in season two, we’re definitely enjoying the second season. There are four eps out now to catch up on, and new episodes come out on Mondays!

    • Tuesday: Top Chef’s 23rd season – based in the Carolinas – premiers on Bravo Monday, March 9th, but we’ll be watching on Tuesdays via Peacock! And for those who couldn’t wait (like us), the first ep is already available on Peacock as a special little preview!

    • Wednesday: We don’t have a show for this day, so we’re going to start implementing our “me nights” again on Wednesdays – a little time to spend solo once the kids go to sleep – whether working on hobbies, watching our guy/girl shows, reading, etc.

    • Thursday: Kel watched old seasons of Scrubs back when she was waiting for baby girl to arrive, and three years later, they’re back with a new version that’s actually very enjoyable! While new episodes are live on Wednesdays, we watch on Hulu the next day. Old faves + new characters = a fun watch for Scrubs fans.

    • Friday: We’ve been hooked on Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bassette! It comes out on Thursdays, but we watch on Hulu on Friday nights. We know absolutely nothing about their story (except the tragic end), so it’s been an enjoyable watch – the casting is so good & it makes us so grateful we 1) aren’t famous & 2) didn’t marry into a famous family.

    • Saturday & Sunday: Saturday used to be a movie night for us, but since we keep our same 9pm-ish bedtime throughout the weekend, we’ve gotten used to splitting movies into half-and-half situations on weekend nights. Currently trying to watch some of the best-picture noms before the Oscars on March 15th!

  • We’re also looking forward to Prime Video’s Jury Duty Presents: Company Retreat premiering on March 20th (the first season is worth a watch if you haven’t seen it already!) & Apple TV’s Imperfect Women (we read the book & loved it!) premiering March 18th and season two of Your Friends and Neighbors premiering April 3rd.

what we’re reading

what we’re listening to

  • We’ve been in a very boring listening rut, so we don’t have a ton of recs this month for listens via podcasts, songs/playlists, etc., so this is us, asking you, to give us all the recs of what you’ve been listening to lately 💕

what we’re eating/drinking

  • In last month’s newsletter, we mentioned how excited we were for Jenn Lueke’s Don’t Think About Dinner cookbook & we can confirm it’s a great buy! We did the “Jenn’s Top Hits Week” weekly dinner meal plan, which saved us money on groceries and gave us a fun & easy dinner to make each night of the week. Will def be adding some of her recipes to our rotation!

  • We’re also looking for some delicious & nutritious postpartum meals for B that are easy to prepare, able to freeze/reheat, and bonus if they can be made kid-friendly… so send us your recs, favorite Substacks, etc.!

little joys

  • Watching Cam become a big brother & Avery become a big cousin – and love on their little brother/cousin with the gentlest, sweetest touches.

  • Soaking up the newborn snuggles & cherishing every moment with new baby boy since we know how quickly the time goes 🥹

  • Girl Scout cookie season! We were so happy when a little girl ignored our “no soliciting” sign & we bought three packs of our favorite cookies.

  • The kids bringing us flowers they picked while at the park with their nanny – who we absolutely love (and hope she never leaves us) – a little mid-workday surprise 🌼

  • Seeing the joy spread across our kids’ faces when they truly earn something – whether it’s a soccer medal, a special snack, or a mini-movie night.

  • Our toddlers are at a stage where they’re fighting bedtime & it’s become a struggle even though we know they’re so tired… so little joys include the times they fall asleep between 7-7:30pm like the good ‘ol days 🤍 We’re still so very grateful that they’re amazing sleepers overall, but the struggle is real sometimes!

We’d love to know what you’ve enjoyed watching, listening to, eating, drinking & what you’ve been eyeing and are looking forward to.
