Weekend Getaway: Summer Fun at Arizona Biltmore

Sunset over the Pacific Ocean on Delta FlightNothing beats an Arizona sunset, even though in all honesty (and obviously) the image above captures the sun setting over the Pacific. Regardless, I snapped this while my boyfriend and I were on our way to Arizona - coffee & Baileys in hand - for a weekend getaway at Arizona Biltmore. Born and raised in "The Grand Canyon State," I never truly appreciated all that Phoenix has to offer. Until now. Yes, it's scorching hot in the summer, but the easy living and trendy, cheap (compared to LA) & delicious restaurants are unlike any other.

The design elements throughout the luxury hotel made me feel as if I took a step back in time. As we sipped drinks while listening to live music at The Wright Bar, it was easy to close my eyes and imagine having a chat with Marilyn Monroe while listening to the sounds of Frank Sinatra entertaining guests.
P.S. Shoutout to the bar serving beer from my favorite local brewery: Four Peaks!

Saturday started off right with a gorgeous room service breakfast and make-your-own Bloody Marys. We enjoyed a relaxing massage and explored the grounds before heading to the pool to cool off. Let me just tell you... go on the water slide!! Lunch was served poolside. I enjoyed a caprese sandwich and David opted for his first lobster roll ever! The French fries were amazing and the pitcher of lemon water was a much-needed & perfect touch. Later that night, we visited with friends at a new (at least to me) restaurant & bar nearby.

Delicious bruschetta boards and a bottle of wine

We spent Sunday with my mom (we missed you Kel!), which was the biggest plus of the weekend! The three of us walked around Scottsdale Fashion Square – which has changed SO much since K & I used to frequent the mall – & shared two bruschetta boards and a bottle of wine at my all-time favorite wine bar, Postino. There was so much more that I wanted to do, but it was difficult to leave such a beautiful hotel room in order to do so. I guess we'll just have to go back!
