Farewell John Lennon Wall

You may have already heard the news, but the famous John Lennon wall in Prague was painted white earlier this week. A group of art students "vandalized" the popular tourist attraction as an art project – to mark the 25th anniversary of the Velvet Revolution. And while commemorating the end of Communism in Czechoslovakia with an art piece was a great concept, in reality, the students' act erased our memories, along with hundreds of thousands of others, along with it.

Now, we have to forget our hope to revisit the wall with our future husbands to show them our signatures, as well as our dad (who passed away last year) and mom's signatures. When you look at it that way, it clearly becomes more than just an unfortunate article on a news website.

We much prefer the wall how it was, graffiti and all, so luckily we have pictures to remember it by. When we visited in 2012, we found that someone had already graffitied the word "Twins," which was perfect for us since we only brought Sharpie pens to sign the wall with.

What do you think about this news?
Did you have the opportunity to see this famous dedication to John Lennon before it was destroyed?
